About
Jo Mchugh
Survivor Therapist Trainer
As a trauma experienced therapist I offer unique and empowering therapies that help heal hurts of the past. Sexual trauma leaves lasting impacts that resurface at different times in our lives. The very nature of sexual trauma heals over time never all at once. Using talking and modern processing therapies I offer programmes of support that help transform the traumas of the past.

As a survivor of complex sexual trauma and family. I am adept at understanding and unravelling impacts left by these complex legacies. With 10 years of my own therapy and five years working as a therapist I offer a space to work through the difficulties brought by histories of sexual trauma. We work in a manner that suits you for a fixed period using each modality therapy independently.

Sexual trauma is a journey to be processed at each stage - it is the only way to live fully.

Sexual Assault & Sexual Abuse
Sexual assault and sexual abuse in childhood impacts for the whole of your life. Navigating the impacts is the first step towards a life long undoing of damage. Each step is important and unique. It is not a negative it is a positive of undoing the damage. Listen to my podcasts to learn how I help unravel guide and empower you on your journey.
The roots of childhood trauma are ever present in who we are today. The family dynamics of childhood are the frameworks we are left with. As a therapist survivor of childhood trauma, I understand how to unravel the layers of damage, inner chaos and lack of resolution left by the dysfunctional family.
Over 20 years I have processed child abuse and the impacts it has on the self. My holistic programmes offer a space to process and assimilate memories; understand how trauma forms our perspective; in order to redefine our sense of self, thereby creating our own definition of 'me'.
